Custom Wheel Building

Wheel plays a much bigger part of the equation than most people realize when it comes to bicycle performance and efficiency. Oftentimes people fixate solely on components such as derailleur, handlebar and stem for weight savings. But in most situations you get more bang for your buck by investing in a set of custom-laced and light-weight wheels. By shaving weight (the key here is rotational weight) off the wheels you actually use less energy to rotate those wheels with every pedal stroke. Another advantage is that custom wheels are stronger so they are less prone to go out of true. At our bike shop all custom wheels are hand built and laced from the ground up. Start with a pair of solid hubs from Chris King or White Industries, we can custom build wheels to any size and spec thanks to our Phil Wood Spoke Cutting and Threading Machine.
