Topanga Canyon is part of the Santa Monica Mountains nestled between Pacific Palisades, Malibu and the Valley (Woodland Hills to be exact). Truly a hidden gem inside Los Angeles, for decades Topanga has retained its retreat-like settings and rural charms. Topanga is also one of L.A.'s more unique communities that has attracted independent and creative people throughout its history. It's been home to legendary musicians like Woodie Guthrie, Neil Young and Alice Cooper. In fact, our shop location was once the recording studio for Jim Morrison of The Doors.
When you drive through Topanga Canyon you will immediately be awed by the lush and forest-like settings. It seems so remote but yet our shop is only 12 miles from the Santa Monica Pier. We have chosen this location for our new shop not only for its natural and beautiful surroundings, but also for many of the prime mountain biking trails found in all of Southern California. Everyday we are amazed at the beauty of this place and feel very lucky to continue doing what we love to do riding bikes and helping people in the community to enjoy riding as well.
Our shop is on the edge of Topanga State Park, sometimes billed as "the largest state park within a city limit in the U.S." For mountain bikers, the park offers great trails for all levels of off-road riding. Whether you start from Trippet Ranch (main trailhead) or via Cheney Road off Topanga Canyon Blvd, it's just a short ride from our shop for an all-day mountain biking fun. Because we are in the Santa Monica Mountains (stretching from Encino, Woodland Hills, all of Malibu Creek State Park, Calabasas, Agoura Hills, Westlake Village, into the Ventura County and beyond), mountain bike enthusiasts can also find many trails of various difficulty levels within a short driving distance from our shop. Some of the popular trails are Backbone Trail, Big Sycamore Canyon, Cheeseboro/Sulphur Springs, Caballero Canyon, Los Robles Canyon and more. Through our demo program, you can even tackle all of these amazing trails on one of our racing or performance demo/rental bicycles.
We were in Hollywood since 1999 and moved to Topanga in 2008 for better quality of life. With the new location we will continue to offer great quality products and excellent service which we are known for over the years. You will find large selection of Brooks saddles and bags, Surly and other quality frames, racing bikes, mountain bikes, comfort bikes, single speed, and of course our top-notch custom built bikes. In addition, our demo/rental program offers quality road and mountain bikes at competitive rates. So if you're in the area, just come on in to relax in our yard or warm up by the pot belly stove on a cold day. We welcome you to visit us in Topanga and perhaps go on a great bike ride.

Team/Club pricing for everyone
Topanga Creek Bicycles offers the same team/club pricing for everyone that comes to our shop. We understand that many of our customers are riding for a team, members of cycling clubs and organizations such as the Bicycle Coalition, or are doing charity events like the AIDS Ride. So it just makes sense for us to give the same team/club discount to everyone to make it easy for us to manage and also everyone saves money. On our price tags you will see the standard MSRP price as published by the manufacturers, and then our team/club price right below. Again everyone is treated equal and we hope you have a great shopping experience with us.
How to get here
We are right in the middle between 101 Freeway and PCH, about 6.4 miles from either direction.

History of the shop
In 1999 we started as LA Bike Tours taking people on bicycle excursions around Los Angeles. We took out-of-town visitors and locals alike on bikes exploring and learning about Los Angeles area history. Destinations included Venice Beach, Beverly Hills, the Getty Center and many historic points of Hollywood. As avid mountain bikers we also offered off-road rides as well. We were proud to show people that Los Angeles really was a bicycle friendly city despite its deep-rooted car culture.
As we became more established in Hollywood we realized there was a need for a bicycle shop in the neighborhood. Hollywood Pro Bicycles was formed and our continued growth in the unexpected location on Hollywood's famous Walk of Fame surprised many people. Hollywood is a very divese community and our customers included roadies, mountain bikers, bike messengers and urban commuters. We were glad to have helped Hollywood become a stronger cycling community over the years.
With the move to Topanga Canyon we changed our name to Topanga Creek Bicycles. We will continue our mission to provide the highest quality products and best services to all surrounding neighborhoods.
