Topanga Creek Bicycles is a Los Angeles area bicycle shop that specializes in mountain and touring bicycles in Southern California. We are in Topanga Canyon which is 12 scenic miles from the Santa Monica Pier. Nestled between Malibu, Pacific Palisades and Woodland Hills, Topanga State Park is a lush and rustic oasis inside Los Angeles with lots of mountain bike trails from easy fire roads to technical single tracks. With trailheads just minutes from our shop, you can easily try out any of our mountain bikes from BMC, Salsa, Pivot, Niner, Surly, Orbea, Devinci and Maverick ranging from intermediate to high performance level, many with industry accolades. The famous Topanga Days will take place this Memorial Day weekend on May 25, 26 and 27. It's one of the most fun and unique music festivals
you'll ever experience. Three full days of big music lineup over two stages plus great food and games for the entire family to enjoy. There's also
a parade on Monday with Cloris Leachman as the Grand Marshall. Other activities include Healing arts, kids zone, and more. Free shuttles along the canyon.

We took a road trip to Tucson in February for the legendary 24 Hours in the Old Pueblo Mountain Bike Race. 14 years in the running, Old Pueblo
is one of the largest 24 Hour events in the world with over 3,500 participants this year. Warm desert air, flowy single tracks, great
energy all around, it was one of the most memorable races we've done this year.

The local newspaper Topanga Messenger recently did a

and highlighted the ever-growing community we have created around the shop. Our community is made up of people
from all walks of life, of all ages, and even from all over the world. We do weekly mountain bike rides,
go to bike races, host movie nights, get people together to do trail maintenance, hire local artisans to make shop
jerseys and mugs, and partake in national bicycle advocacy meetings to better the greater cycling community.

We love things that are handmade because it requires creativity, individuality and craftsmanship to produce
something that is never identical to the next one. We strongly support the artisan community and you can
find many of these unique handmade items at our shop. The popular TCB mugs are made by a local artist in Topanga.
Danny, who is a luthier by trade, makes
wooden clocks with recycled bicycle components. There are rubber wallets made out of recycled bicycle tubes. You'll also

scratch starting with a pair of hubs from highly sought-after companies such as Chris King and White Industries.
Using Phil Wood Spoke Cutting Machine, we can cut and thread each spoke to any length based on wheel and hub
combination. It's then a true balancing act to get each wheel complete round, dished and true to yield a final
product that's light-weight, strong, precise and race-ready. Reduced rotational weight means you'll work less
with every pedal stroke, thus noticeable gain in efficiency and power.

It was another great race at the 12 Hours of Temecula race in January with perfect weather! We regularly participate in this SoCal Endurance race
series because the location is beautiful (by Vail Lake Resort) and the course is fun for everyone which makes it easier for us to rally people
to support and partake in the event. This time many of us did the 6-hour solo to challenge ourselves. It was also Luke's birthday so that made it
even more fun! We look forward to the next race in June. See the event pictures.

Our fun weekly Saturday mountain bike ride starts at 8:00 a.m. and it's open to everyone.
There are lots of flowy fireroads and fun single tracks with multiple climbs so be prepared for a great workout.
We leave from the shop for Topanga State Park and the ride is about 2 to 2.5 hours long.
Just show up with your bike and gear, have some fun in the dirt, and then hang out to meet new people afterwards.
We're truly glad to have met and made friends with some of the most wonderful people on these rides.
